Do you call somebody out for lying? What if the person is doing so dramatically? As in, it is grossly obvious that she is not telling the truth? Do you let them continue? Or do you bait them with questions to see how far their deceit will go?

At a function the other day, the neighbor from down the way said something odd. The content of her comment was rather unimportant. What matters is that she, for whatever reasons may have been, stated something that I know to be untrue. She was relating what she something she claimed occurred in her...

It is interesting that Microsoft accuses Google of "Bypassing User Privacy Settings". Several notes on the matter:

I think that MS is just using the issue to bolster Internet Explorer. There is no reason to talk about IE these days if not a scandal against other companies.

Sending a compact P3P means absolutely nothing. It is supposed to represent the information collected and dissemination of such by the website in question, but the website in question can send any policy they want without oversight. If the company is going to sell your browsing habits, do you think they...

I find it interesting that the instructor for our medical ethics lecture was struck off the UK Medical Register after two years worth of his own ethical indiscretions though none of these were mentioned in the lecture. In fact, as I remember it, not only were the particulars of his own problems not mentioned, but it was not really mentioned that what he did was specifically wrong for a physician. Though, his misdeeds were in the realm of what should be considered a bad idea despite a person’s profession. I do not include the link as...
